Forward With Community is an online community for Latter-day Seekers.
Forward With Community (FWC) launched in October 2017 to provide safe space for Latter-day Seekers to explore and experience Community of Christ while in the company of other Seekers on similar journeys. FWC offers worship gatherings, discussion groups, and classes which uphold the worth of each person, and build a sense of community and connection. You are not alone. No matter where you are on your journey of faith you are welcome here.
The once-a-month Worship Gathering includes relevant life topics, poignant perspectives on social justice, scripture, questions, doubts, personal stories, and the sacrament of communion. Third Monday of the month, 7:00-8:00 p.m. Mountain Time. Click Here.
Open Mic is an opportunity for honest sharing and dialogue around questions of faith, life, purpose, and all the hot topics of the day. Nothing is off the table. A casual come-as-you-are event where you can kick back with other Seekers full of questions too. Chat it up, just listen, or anything in between. First Wednesday of the month, 7:00-8:00 p.m. Mountain Time. Click Here.
Dynamic Classes are available on the Mondays we don't have worship. See the EVENTS page for specifics and find class materials on the RESOURCES page. Most Mondays, 7:00-8:00 p.m. Mountain Time Click Here.
Ongoing Dialogue happens in our private Facebook group where we explore deep questions and diverse topics—and support each other when life gets tough. Click Here.

THE TEAM
Brittany Mangelson (she/her) Brittany is an average gal from Utah who dove head first into a faith transition in 2013. She considers herself a cotton candy connoisseur, a terrible cook, and can usually be found wearing a striped shirt. As skeptic by nature and a believer by choice, in early 2015 she made the metaphorical trek back across the plains to rejoin her sisters and brothers of Community of Christ. Brittany serves Community of Christ as the Social Media Seeker Ministry Specialist. |
Evan Sharley (they/them) Evan was born in the Restoration, but gave it a break for a number of years. During that time they dove headfirst into studying Buddhism. After several years, Evan found their way back into the Restoration through Community of Christ. Here, they have rekindled a love of scripture and community building, but this time with a fresh perspective about their heritage and identity. |
Joelle Wight (she/her) Joelle Wight, a minister of Community of Christ, serves as the Invitation Minister in the Chesapeake Bay Mission Center. She was ordained to the office of Seventy in November 2019. Joelle received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Graceland University. She taught for two years before returning to graduate school where she earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Missouri— Kansas City. She is currently working toward her Master of Arts in Religion with a focus in Peace and Justice at Graceland University Seminary. |
Kelly W Padilla (she/her) Kelly is a mom to 2 children and a furbaby mini poodle. When she is not playing her flute, or traveling to explore historic locales, Kelly works as a clinical research pharmacist in infectious diseases R&D. Kelly is based out of the Community of Christ Southeast Mission Center in North Carolina, and is excited to be a part of the FWC team! |
Nancy Ross (she/her) Nancy Ross is a professor and lives in St. George, Utah with her husband and two children. She co-edited, "Where We Must Stand: Ten Years of Feminist Mormon Housewives" (2018) and more recently co-edited “Shades of Becoming: Poems of Transition.” She is an ordained elder and pastor of the Southern Utah Community of Christ congregation and is working on an MA in Justice and Reconciliation at Luther Seminary. |
Tyler Marz (he/him) Tyler is a Latter-day Seeker Minister in Community of Christ, post-Mormon, and lover of baked goods. Tyler has a Master of Arts in Religion and is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Ministry program with San Francisco Theological Seminary. He finds spirituality in everyday life, from the humorous to the serious. Tyler companions with people on their spiritual journey, wherever that takes them. He is a fierce advocate for marginalized communities, particularly the LGBTQIA+ community reminding them they are worthy and beloved. |
Wendy Eaton (she/her) Wendy loves a good story, especially if it is told over a cup of coffee. She lives in Nauvoo, Illinois and works as Administrative Assistant for Community of Christ Historic Sites Foundation and Joseph Smith Historic Site. In that role she encounters a wide variety of Latter Day Saints; many of those encounters intensify her wish to rename the site Emma and Joseph Smith Historic Site. Wendy has appeared in the Project Zion Podcast series Cuppa' Joe where she shares women's history. Wendy was raised in the Community of Christ and ordained a deacon in 2000 and a priest in 2017. |
